After months of anticipation, speculation, and at times even doubt, Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, is finally here.
Not only is it here but already certified Gold…in just one day. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Cardi’s first LP was certified gold due to a technicality including her massive hit Bodak Yellow.
According to Forbes, Cardi’s previous No. 1 hit single went five times platinum in 2017. It takes 10 track units to equate to one album sale; Bodak Yellow has technically already sold 500,000 units for the project alone, which deems it gold.
"Bodak Yellow" has 5m units certified by the RIAA. Because 10 track units = 1 album sale, the album has 500k+ units. These units will not be included in official first week numbers.
